Ulrichite is a hydrated calcium copper uranyl phosphate mineral with the chemical formula CaCu(UO2)(PO4)2·4H2O. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system and belongs to the phosphate mineral class. Ulrichite is typically found as small, prismatic or acicular crystals and exhibits a vitreous to pearly luster. Its color is usually yellowish green to greenish yellow. With a hardness of approximately 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale and a relatively low density, it is a fragile and delicate mineral. It is classified under the Strunz system as 8.EA.15 and in the Dana system as 40.2a.30.1.
