Kutnohorite is a carbonate mineral with the chemical formula calcium manganese(II) carbonate. It belongs to the trigonal crystal system and is classified in the Strunz system as 5.AB.10. This mineral typically exhibits a vitreous to pearly luster and is usually found in white, gray, or pale pink colors. With a hardness of approximately 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity around 3.7 to 3.9, it is relatively soft and dense. Kutnohorite is a member of the rhodochrosite group, which includes other carbonate minerals with similar structures and properties.
